Caffe latte

I've been working on this piece for a week now and have made great progress.  It's a fun and whimsical piece that stitches up pretty fast.  So far I've really enjoyed it.

Since last week...

Since last week...I have made 3 scarves, started a new blanket, a new scarf (really long) and still working on my big blanket.  I start back to work on Sunday and I have plenty of small stuff to work on.  I won't see my new hours until probably Saturday but I am hoping for early morning hours and evening hours, a split shift.  I have been on leave of absence since July 31st and am really looking forward to getting back to work.  And my printer is out of ink (just a random throw in there! HAHA)

stitching in the dark

Well not quite pitch black but I got up this morning and started crocheting on a scarf.  Love the colors (posted yesterday with the orange and brown) and I love how easy everything works out.
The lights were off and the blinds were not up yet so it still had a really soft glow within the room and my hook was definitely on a caffeine kick (I wish!).

I got through the dvr version of Grey's Anatomy from last night.  It really didn't take long as I can fast forward through the commercials.  Plus, the show was a little boring in my opinion.  Ready for next week and feel the need for them to give us some meat before they go on winter break.  Will Arizona go back home? Or will the thrill of what she is doing keep her away?

Its a good thing I have good eyesight though...maybe next time I will turn on a light or open the blinds and watch the birds and squirrels.

One stitch at a time...

I take things one stitch at a time or one row at a time lately.
Most people say they take one day at a time but sometimes we have to live in the moments and take things even slower than the majority of people.
So stop and smell the roses, get your hook and yarn out and create something special.
Remember...one.memory.at.time.
See here are a couple of colors from what I call my ugly blanket.  You see I only took a picture of two colors from the blanket but there is really several colors on here and they don't match at all.  But I didn't care.  I made this blanket while in residential treatment at Timberline Knolls and the way I looked at it I was putting the pieces of my life back together and crocheting the same way.  Well I can't get the picture to load on here...will try tomorrow.

Dawn of another DAY!

Today is World Diabetes Day.  But I don't think I have anything blue to work on.. :(  I have grey...would that count?  How many of you are affected by diabetes or do you not allow it to affect you at all?  We have a different circumstance, I am Type 1 and so are 3 of the 4 kids.  We all pump our insulin as well.  Remember everyone's diabetes is different and should be treated as so.  Ok that is my diabetes talk for the morning.

A bit of an older picture but still a good one!

This was taken on 12/12/12...cool, huh?

All of our pumps.  I have a new one now
therefore we need a new picture.

I will post my stitching a bit later on...I will leave you with this:

Morning, Sunshine!

Good Morning! Shunshine!

I know its been awhile but I have been through several hospitalizations and a residential treatment center for my anorexia.  Things are progressing slowly with daily setbacks but each day is a  new one and I can only hope for another day to do better in my recovery.   When I struggle I am at least able to recognize it and try to redirect myself using coping skills or some talk therapy.  Grateful for a wonderful new therapist, great friends and a lovely, supportive family.

Here is my latest project...its crochet!  I am still stitching but right now I am using the hook and it is one of my coping skills.  A nice glow of morning sunrise on my single crochets!! Yay!

This cartoon ties in with my treatment center, recovery and crochet!
Nobody wants to be CODA...it just happens!

This is why I like to watch mindless tv.
I can crochet or stitch and listen to the tv and not have to look up at it to know what's going on.
A close up of the stitches.  The yarn is fabulous and from Hobby Lobby.  I love their Yarn Bee and Baby Bee yarn lines.  I have been to boutique yarn stores but really have a hard time paying boutique prices.

It was a good stitching day, in more ways than one!

It was a good stitching day, in more ways than one!

So for the past month I have wanted to work on my Country Bloomers project!  Can't find the chart ANYWHERE.  I got to thinking...I wonder if it was put in the sell box that I took to the Used Book Store??
After fretting about this for awhile I had the opportunity to get to Nashville and take a look.  Lo and Behold I heard the angels singing....Ahhhhhhhh! I found it.  I know it was mine because I know the markings I had in the chart!  So excited!!! Tomorrow afternoon after all of our Nashville appointments my hope is to be able to sit and stitch on this one!  Can't let others in our group get ahead of me...yes I am competitive too!

On other notes.

I had my first finish of 2013.  I am working on the 12 months of flowers by Maurer-Stroh...find the free patterns.  They are in there.  I am thinking of making them and finding someone to help me learn how to quilt and incorporate these pieces.  I think it will look beauti-mus!  I don't think it should be too hard.  And who knows I may not ask anyone to help me and just do it myself! :)

This is the January Carnations.
Februrary pattern is Violets...really excited about this one as I really like purple and could never tire of using this color.  The color is cornsilk and it is very lovely.  Here are some progessions of how it is working out:

This is as far as I have gotten so far.  Aren't the cornsilk "purples" beautiful.  They are so close in hue but there are actually 3 different colors.

Tomorrow I hope to get some work on the "Country Bloomers"  I am making some changes to the pattern however. The pattern has the Bloomers hanging out on a laundry line.  Instead of the day of the week stitched above each bloomer I am going to place a member of our household's name above each one.  And in the bench on the bottom right I am going to stitch "est. 1995"  Thought this would give it a  more personal touch.  Here is what the chart looks like:

Happy Stitching this week everyone!  Leave me a link to your blog in the comment section so I can peek in on what you are working on!
